• MEMBERSHIP OF CISM ROUNDTABLE

    The Corporate Integrity Roundtable is a joint effort among its members. Hence, it is vital that all members understand and uphold their respective roles and functions to ensure the success of CISM. Three functions stated in the CISM Roundtable Terms of Reference are as follows:


    Custodian

    The custodian functions as the center of reference for the implementation of CISM initiatives by the CIP signatories.


    Implementer

    The implementer connects the CISM Roundtable with the respective organizations, promotes CISM to the stakeholders as well as increases the CISM value chain from time to time and provide guidance on the implementation of the CISM initiatives to all CIP signatories.


    Promoter

    The promoter connects the CISM Roundtable with the respective organizations, promotes CISM to stakeholders and increases the CISM value chain from time to time.

    The following are the CISM Roundtable members and their role:

    CUSTODIAN

       

      THE MALAYSIAN ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION (MACC)

      Established from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (MACC Act 2009) [Act 694], the enforcement agency is at the forefront of anti-corruption prevention in Malaysia. MACC was established according to the Act to cultivate integrity, instill responsibility in governance of the public as well as private sector and educate the local authorities, public officials and the public on the negative repercussions of corruption.

           

    IMPLEMENTER

       

      INTEGRITY INSTITUTE OF MALAYSIA

      IIM is trusted to monitor and coordinate the implementation of the Corporate Integrity Plan (NIP). IIM would focus on efforts to establish integrity and sustainability as well as other joint values.

           
       

      TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL MALAYSIA (TI-M)

      TI-M is a local body under the global corruption prevention organization. As a non-governmental body, TI-M is committed to fight corruption through advocacy and research as well as provide professional consultancy services to enable companies and businesses to implement corruption prevention efforts.

           

    PROMOTER

       

      COMPANIES COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA (SSM)

      SSM is a statutory body that monitors registered companies and businesses in Malaysia. Its main function include promoting corporate governance, incorporating companies and registering businesses as well as providing corporate information to the public.

           
       

      SECURITIES COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA (SC)

      SSM is a statutory body established under the Securities Commission of Malaysia Act 1993. It functions to monitor issues regarding securities and derivatives, stock exchange, depository center as well as ensuring implementation of licensing and market institution with the aim of protecting the investors. The Commission also encourages and promotes development of modal markets in the country.

           
       

      BURSA MALAYSIA BERHAD (BURSA)

      BURSA monitors the domestic markets and is responsible in ensuring the securities and derivatives market are traded fairly. Bursa is also committed in maintaining high corporate governance.

           
       

      NATIONAL CENTER FOR GOVERNANCE, INTEGRITY AND ANTI-CORRUPTION (GIACC)

      The government established GIACC on 1 June 2018 following firm commitment by the government to combat corruption. GIACC is placed directly under the Prime Minister to curb corruption in the country immediately.
